Rodney Wood was born in Aldershot and now resides in Farnborough, Hampshire. He met his wife during school, and they have shared 50 wonderful years together. After leaving school at 16, Rodney discovered he needed glasses, a hearing aid, and soon discovered he had epilepsy. Life soon brought marriage, two children, and later, the joy of two grandchildren.
Rodney began his career in the Civil Service but took early retirement in 2006. Along the way, he earned a degree with the Open University, where he uncovered a deep passion for poetry and the tribe he wanted to belong to. This passion led him to co-found The Open University Poetry Association, join the Poetry Library in London, organize poetry readings, serve as a Stanza Rep and spend time reading amazing poems and slowly getting better at writing them. Currently I co-host a monthly open mic at The Fiery Bird in Woking.
As a poet, Rodney has published over 400 poems and two pamphlets, sharing his love for the written word.
